Internal CDC Presentation Shows It Knew for Months That COVID-19 Vaccine Efficacy Was Waning and Kept It a Secret
Once again, ICAN’s legal team has succeeded in uncovering information that federal health agencies like the CDC would rather keep hidden.
Through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, ICAN’s attorneys have obtained a presentation from September 2021 that was delivered to higher-ups at the FDA and NIH, including prominent figures like Anthony Fauci, Francis Collins, Peter Marks, and Janet Woodcock. This presentation reveals startling levels of waning immunity and breakthrough infections among vaccinated individuals, dating back to as early as July 2021.
The data presented in the document paints a concerning picture. In the last week of July, fully vaccinated individuals accounted for a staggering 73% of COVID-19 cases and 63% of COVID-19 hospitalizations within the 65+ age group. The presentation also highlights a clear pattern of rapidly diminishing immunity, with infection rates 5-6 months post-vaccination being twice as high as those 3-4 months post-vaccination.
Despite having access to this compelling data, public health officials like Anthony Fauci persisted in advocating for vaccines as the ultimate solution to gaining control over the virus. The evidence contradicted their messaging, but their stance remained unchanged. Even Francis Collins noted on September 16, 2021, that there was “pretty compelling evidence” of vaccine efficacy declining after 5-6 months, especially for those over 65. This trend was evident even 3-4 months post-vaccination.
The CDC’s behavior is particularly concerning. As late as December 2021, the CDC continued to promote the notion that vaccines offered similar protection in real-world conditions as they did in clinical trial settings, claiming a reduction of the risk of severe illness by 90% or more among fully vaccinated individuals. This statement contradicted the data that had been available to them.
What’s more, it appears that the CDC may have withheld this data from the FDA. Peter Marks, the Director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), commented that it would have been better for the CDC to share the data.
ICAN’s legal team is committed to revealing the truth about what the government knew regarding these vaccines and when they knew it. This ongoing effort aims to shed light on the decisions and actions taken by health agencies in the face of critical data, ultimately holding them accountable for their messaging and decisions.
