NBA veteran Brandon Hunter, recognized for his time with the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, has passed away at the age of 42. He tragically collapsed during a hot yoga class in Florida.
The exact cause of his passing has not been disclosed yet. Tim O’Shea, his former coach, shared this sad news on social media. Jeff Boals, another former coach, expressed his condolences, calling Hunter one of the finest to wear the green and white. The Orlando Magic's team members and staff also paid tribute to the 6-foot-7 power forward.
Hunter's journey in basketball began in Division I, leading to his draft by the Celtics in 2003. He played for the Magic in the 2004-2005 season, averaging 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his 67-game stint in the NBA.
After retiring from professional play, Hunter pursued basketball internationally, competing in Greece, Italy, Israel, France, and Uruguay before officially retiring in 2013. Returning to the United States, he ventured into real estate investment and applied his sports expertise in coaching and sports management.
