The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its partners have reportedly found signs that the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines may cause tinnitus, a persistent condition characterized by a constant ringing in the head.
However, the CDC did not disclose these findings to the public. The signs were discovered during an analysis of data from the CDC's Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) system, which utilizes health care records and is considered a strong surveillance system. The CDC had previously told a reporter that there were no signs of large numbers of tinnitus cases following COVID-19 vaccination, but documents obtained by The Epoch Times reveal that the agency was aware of a safety signal for tinnitus as early as 2022.
The CDC declined to comment on the matter. Previous requests have also revealed that the CDC knew about other potential safety problems with the COVID-19 vaccines but did not inform the public. Other researchers and countries have identified a link between tinnitus and COVID-19 vaccines, and some regulatory agencies have added tinnitus to the labels of certain vaccines. The exact mechanism by which the vaccines may cause tinnitus remains unclear.
