The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has not released any updated information on reported cases of myocarditis and pericarditis that are linked to COVID-19 vaccination. Previously, the CDC had confirmed that COVID-19 vaccines can cause these inflammatory conditions.
In response to a request for more current data, a CDC spokesman stated that the updated safety data would be published when appropriate. This has been met with frustration from those in the vaccine safety community, who feel that the public has a right to know this information.
At a recent meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, Dr. Nicola Klein, a Kaiser Permanente doctor, presented data from the Vaccine Safety Datalink that showed two cases of myocarditis after bivalent vaccination up until March 11.
Dr. Andrew Pavia conveyed that, in the era of the bivalent vaccine, the number of cases “no longer is giving a signal that is detectable”. However, a search of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) conducted by The Epoch Times found 98 reports of myocarditis, pericarditis, or myopericarditis following bivalent vaccination as of September 8.
Attorney Edward Berkovich made a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the CDC, and eventually received 518 pages of emails from Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, Sherri A. Berger, and Kevin Griffis. Most of these documents were partially or fully redacted, citing the Presidential Communications Privilege that allows the President and his close advisers to keep certain documents private.
The emails, from May 24-25, 2021, revealed a White House panic about myocarditis and Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS). They also showed the crafting of a media response that downplayed the risks of the vaccines. This provides evidence that the White House was aware of the potential harms of the COVID-19 shots and deliberately withheld this information from the public.
