The co-creator of the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA Covid vaccine, Özlem Türeci, has reportedly been struck down by facial paralysis, a known side effect of the vaccine. However, mainstream media is allegedly attempting to cover up the situation. This raises questions about the transparency surrounding vaccine side effects and the potential impact on those involved in developing and promoting the vaccine.
Türeci, a Turkish-German physician, played a pivotal role in developing the first messenger RNA-based vaccine for COVID-19. BioNTech later partnered with Pfizer to release the mRNA vaccines worldwide. Despite receiving significant airtime in recent times, Türeci's facial paralysis has seemingly gone unaddressed by the mainstream media.
Robert Kogon, a journalist, has drawn attention to the visible signs of partial facial paralysis, also known as Bell's Palsy, in Türeci. Kogon argues that it is “flagrantly obvious” after viewing video footage of Türeci. Modernity also points out that the condition is apparent in all video and still images of Türeci.
The FDA's December 2020 briefing document on the COVID jab acknowledges that it has caused cases of Bell's Palsy. The most notable case was that of singer Justin Bieber, who announced his diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome (RHS), a form of facial paralysis, in June 2022. Canadian actress Jennifer Gibson also developed Bell's Palsy after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Kogon further highlights a photo from the 1990s showing Türeci without any signs of facial paralysis as a young woman. This raises questions about whether her condition is a result of the vaccine.
Ügur Sahin, the co-developer of the BioNTech mRNA Covid vaccine, stated that he had not been vaccinated with the mRNA he helped create. This prompts speculation about whether he avoided any potential side effects while Türeci suffered the consequences.
The disparity in media coverage between Türeci and other public figures who experienced facial paralysis is likely due to Türeci's role as a co-creator of the vaccine. Had it been someone else, particularly a high-profile individual, the situation might have garnered more attention.
