The project, known as DEFUSE, involved the offshoring of gain-of-function research by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to the WIV through the work of Peter Daszak at EcoHealth Alliance and Ralph Baric at the University of North Carolina.
The corporate media, including Fox News, had covered up this information for over four years and dismissed independent journalists as “conspiracy theorists” for questioning the origins of COVID-19. However, thanks to the efforts of Senator Rand Paul and whistleblower Marine Lt. Col. Joseph Murphy, the truth about the DEFUSE project and its connection to COVID-19 has come to light.
The DEFUSE project aimed to design a COVID-19-like virus by inserting a furin cleavage site into a coronavirus. Despite evidence showing the similarities between COVID-19 and the proposed chimeric virus, none of the 15 federal agencies with knowledge of the project warned the public or revealed the Chinese lab's plans to create a bioweapon. Notably, Dr. Anthony Fauci's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) was listed as a participant in the DEFUSE proposal, but no action was taken.
Peter Daszak and Ralph Baric were involved in concealing the DEFUSE project, and even collaborated on it. They refused to disclose the WIV's plans to create a virus similar to COVID-19.
